Solar Panels Monageer Wexford

How Robert used solar to maximise the efficiency of his existing energy upgrades

Making home heating upgrades work harder

When Robert Doyle moved into his house a decade ago, he made some immediate changes.

As a BER assessor, he knows the importance of having an energy-efficient home, so he upgraded the heating system, insulated the roof and walls, and installed new windows. But these changes were only the beginning of Robert’s sustainable energy journey. He was playing the long game and wanted a system that would help him save energy, money, and the environment over time.

He asked around for a suitable partner within the industry, and Pinergy Solar Electric was recommended again and again as the right people for the job.

Splitting the system for maximum gains

Robert contacted Pinergy Solar Electric about installing his solar panel system in Ireland.

When the surveyor came out to look at the property, they chatted through different options and together decided on a bespoke solution that would respond to his family’s energy needs.

For this busy household, with five people and two home offices, a split system was the ideal choice. Panels were installed on all of the property’s east and west-facing roofs, and on the side garage, ensuring full coverage so that the maximum amount of energy was generated.

A No-Brainer Investment

Installing solar panels had a huge knock-on effect on the energy efficiency of Robert’s home.

The initial upgrades allowed the panels to work harder, meaning that Robert could add both a hot water diverter and an electric car charger to his system. They’re all powered by the excess energy the solar panels generate. Circularity is the name of the game in Robert’s house now. “Our habits have changed. Now we work around the energy, so in summer, we run the appliances at certain points of the day when the sun is out.”

Not only is the household now more responsive to the environment, but it has also cut its bills in half – summer bills are down 50%, while winter bills are down 15%.

“It’s a no-brainer to invest in it. It is improving our BRE rating, adding value to the house. And we’re saving energy, getting a long-term payback, and doing our bit for the earth.”

Solar Electric installs solar panels in Wexford, but we also install solar panels in Limerick, Cork, Tipperary, Galway, and many other locations.
