The challenge
Trevor Carter is a private Landlord who looks after 110 units in the Dublin 6 area.Our relationship with Trevor began about 5 years ago when he was looking for an alternative method for billing his new tenants electricity each month.
The solution
All his units are now installed with Pinergy smart meters and a dedicated account manager has been provided to help manage his portfolio. Each tenant looks after their own electricity bills. They can monitor and compare their usage with other households using Pinergy’s ‘In Home Display’ and manage their top ups with the Pinergy Smart app.
One of the things Trevor loves most about Pinergy is the reduced administration work that’s involved when a unit changes over occupants. No meter reads need to be taken and sent on to the landlord when the tenant moves out. All the necessary information about a unit is available on the Energy Manager. Putting the Energy Manager portal to good use! Trevor says he also uses his landlord portal to identify and issues and monitors the usage of the entirety of his units.
Trevor was able to identify a unit where a rogue tenant left without giving him any notice. By logging on,Trevor could see the unit was 30 euro in arrears due to daily standing charges. Once a property is below minus 10 euro it means there is no power.
Overall Trevor has said that the best thing about Pinergy is the reduction in administration work regarding billing.
