Pinergy, the smart energy company which provides 100% green electricity, and eLight, Ireland’s leading Light as a Service (LaaS) provider, are bringing their specialist expertise together with a new proposition specifically for the Student Accommodation Sector in Ireland.

The new proposition, targeted at Student Accommodation owners, means that when they sign up with Pinergy they will have the ability to access fully funded LED lighting retrofit – Light as a Service – with a loyalty bonus the longer they stay with Pinergy. This provides them with the benefits of Green Energy as well as control and oversight of energy usage in individual accommodation units.

Pinergy’s collaboration with eLight ensures businesses, schools, commercial property owners and facility management specialists can easily switch to LED lighting for a fixed monthly service fee, avoiding any upfront payments. For customers, the energy savings are greater than the monthly service fee, allowing them to unlock free cash-flow from day one as well as to improve the quality of their lighting and reduce carbon emissions. Customers can benefit from up to 65% saving on energy use, playing a substantial role in addressing corporate sustainability goals.

Jon Jerromes Head of Sales at Pinergy comments: “We know that lowering energy costs is particularly important for student accommodation providers in the current environment. We’re delighted to be able to offer this fantastic solution which delivers significant savings on lighting along with a reduction in carbon emissions. It’s good news for the accommodation owners, and indeed for their student tenants & their parents, in moving towards a more sustainable future.”

Brian Morgan – Energy Efficiency Consultant at eLight said: “With COVID impacting on businesses, there is pressure to reduce costs. It is rare that paying less can deliver an improved product, Light as a Service from eLight will do this. Not only will LED lighting help deliver better margins, it will add to the sustainability of your building, an important selling point to students and environmentally conscious consumers. The cleanest energy is the energy you don’t use. We are delighted to partner with Pinergy to deliver a truly sustainable solution for accommodation providers.”

Pinergy and eLight will be offering free audits for Student Accommodation owners to assess their energy needs. This advisory led service ensures that customers can create a lighting system that meets the needs of their building and helps reduce their consumption and carbon footprint while becoming more sustainable. Pinergy has also recently appointed Liam Cronin as Energy Advisor specifically for the Student Accommodation Sector. Liam, alongside Pinergy’s other energy advisors are on hand to advise on the full range of grant funding that is available and for which they may qualify for, including current energy support schemes promoted by Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.

Pinergy supplies 100% green electricity from renewable energy sources to a number of Student Accommodation operators across the country and offers clients the most advanced smart energy technology currently available on the Irish market.

Pinergy’s Smart App allows users to easily track and monitor their daily energy usage, with special student rate tariffs also available for student accommodation properties. The smart technology system will provide students, property managers and landlords with a tool to empower them to play their part in building a sustainable future by becoming more energy efficient.
